New Zealand Fashion Week 2013: Stolen Girlfriends Club Dirty Magic AW14
Without a doubt one of my personal highlights of the week – flying over and getting to hang out with the cool guys behind Stolen Girlfriends Club, knowing how fucking rad Marc and Dan are and how amazingly sweet their runway show will be (and their afterparties) is always mad fun.
SGC’s AW’14 collection titled Dirty Magic is a beautiful exploration of the dark arts with splashes of velvet, tassle and paisley print scattered throughout the collection. As always attention to detail is immaculate – thanks to the styling of Zara Mirkin, no doubt influencing the mass safety pin accessories creating a polished high street grunge fit for anyone. There’s a nice blend of a variety of prints including psychedelic paisley and tartan, sheer delights and feminine yet grungey pieces that invoke goth grunge gypsy magic camps.I can’t lie when I say this draws me over to the dark side and makes me want to embrace darker clothing again….
