There’s something stunning about lace dresses. Ultra feminine yet often simplistic in silhouette, lace is one of those versatile textiles which can instantly glam up your outfit. What drew me to this beautiful dress by Aussie label Lover was the delicate details in the construction: the lush French lace and kimino sleeves and unfinished hemline just add to a really luxurious dress. While I was a bit worried the dress wouldn’t look too nice on me given I’m not very tall – pairing the long hemmed dress with my pretty lucite heels gave me the height I needed to complete the look. While a bit high end, it definitely is worth every penny – the quality is in the details and you know any Lover pieces will stand the test of time and never go out of fashion.
I finished off the look with some girly accessories including these cute pom pom earrings by Gitsie Wood (bff of internet goth barbie queen Nikki Lipstick) – originally I wanted to buy these earrings in baby pink, I settled for lilac instead. What is always amusing to me is when I shoot my editorials, most of the time the best photos turn out to be the ones that are candid or spur of the moment, if while I’m posing and I see something hilarious or people waving at me, I usually burst into giggles. This was shot in Sydney’s The Rocks and was the perfect industrial contrast to my delicate pastel look.

For those following me on social, you may have noticed how some of my posts have had an undertone of stress lately – I’ve been extremely stressed due to my day job and desperately need a holiday to clear my mind and really just unwind. I’m hoping to lock in a holiday some time soon (maybe a photo series in Japan?) either to Japan, America or back to the UK to visit my brother. I would love to hear how you unwind and relax as I’ve been struggling to “switch-off” and not think about my day job even after hours… please let me know in the comments below x
